To use the Veluwe Share Bike, you must download our app and register. This is completely free of charge. You can download the app from the Appstore(iPhone) and Play Store (Android).

The entrance fee is € 10. After that you pay € 0.04 per minute. The maximum amount per day is € 30. Keeping your bike overnight? Then the counter starts running again the next day, starting with the entrance fee. This comes on top of the costs incurred on the first day.

To open the lock, it is important that your Bluetooth connection on your phone is on. You open the lock as follows:

  1. Open the app on your phone.
  2. Select the location where you want to rent the bike.
  3. Click on ‘Grab a bike’.
  4. Enter the ‘Bike ID’. This four-digit code can be found on the bike frame.
  5. Click ‘Open lock & start ride’.
  6. The lock will now open. Note: this can sometimes happen with a slight delay.
  7. You release the mortise lock and then insert the pin back into the bike lock.
  8. You can now use the Veluwe Share Bike.

If the lock doesn’t open, you can try the following:

  1. Close the app and try again.
  2. Make sure your phone’s bluetooth connection is on.
  3. If this doesn’t work, call: 085-080 5991.

Yes you can. You can sit down on a terrace and lock the bike. You do this by clicking on ‘Rit pauzeren’ (Pause Ride). The lock is now locked. By clicking on ‘Slot openmaken’ you can unlock it again. Please note: the rental charge (per minute) continues during this pause.

When you have finished your ride, lock the bike again as follows:

  1. Place the bike on the loading platform and with the stand on the loading tile.
  2. Unlock the slot lock, pull it through the eye in the rack and put it back in the lock.
  3. Open the app and click ‘Stop rit’.
  4. Confirm the end of your ride.
  5. Your bike is now locked again.

When you do not lock the ride, the lock will not close. The rental amount will also continue to run with a maximum of € 30. Therefore, always check if the bike is properly locked and charging.

There is a light in the charging tile. When the bicycle is parked, the light changes from orange (identify) to green (may charge) and finally blue (is charging). So always check that the light is blue. Is this not the case? Then check if the stand is properly on the charging symbol.

If the loading tiles are occupied on your return, park your bike next to the platforms and follow the usual locking procedure. There is an additional chain hanging at our charging platforms. We will then arrange for the bike to be collected.

In the app, you can see what time you can return the bike at the locations by. Please note: this varies per location!

You don’t manage to return the bike on time? Can happen, of course. You can still finish the ride. Place the bike back on the loading platform in the normal way, conclude the ride and lock the bike. Then call phone number 085-080 5991 to let us know you’re late and we’ll sort it out for you.

In principle, you can use the Veluwe Share Bike for the duration of 1 full battery hour. Are you planning to hire the bicycle for longer than one day? Consult the staff at the rental outlet. They will give you a battery charger so that you can charge the bike yourself.

In principle, it should be possible to cycle 120 kilometres on a full battery when using the ECO mode. The more support from the motor, the faster your battery drains and the fewer kilometres you can cycle. If you do everything in TURBO mode, you should be able to cycle around 70 kilometres.

You can charge the bike during the ride.

Yes, this is possible and completely free of charge. Please note that return times vary per location.

No, it is not possible to reserve a bicycle in advance. Would you like to reserve a bicycle? Then we advise you to call one of our rental partners.

In the app, you can see how many bikes are available in real time. We cannot guarantee that the bike will be available when you arrive at your destination. However, we strive to avoid this problem by placing enough shared bicycles everywhere.

Yes, this is possible. It’s a bit heavier but you can still cycle with an empty battery.

You can only open and close the bike via the app. Is your phone currently empty? Then log in to the app via the phone of the person with you. Are you alone? Then ask for help from a staff member at the rental location.

No, you do not have to pay a deposit to use the Veluwe Share Bike.

Yes, it is possible to rent a maximum of 4 bicycles on 1 account.

De Veluwe Share Bike does not rent helmets. Would you like to rent a helmet? Then we advise you to call one of our rental partners.
